I'm almost positive I don't usually smile like this

Fo, ooday haf been infrefing. Translation: I went to the dentist today to get my two miniscule cavities filled, and they were heavy on the numbing junk. It lasted well over six hours.

So yeah. Today has been interesting. I was hungry practically all day, but my dead mouth couldn’t chew food and when I finally got some feeling back, the taste of things was all off. Have you ever eaten a marshmallow that tasted salty and rancid?

Anyway, my face was also mildly distorted. Whenever I tried to smile I just ended up looking like a creeper. This is not an exaggeration. Those wrinkles and crossed eyes might have also been a side effect.
I think the facial paralyzation paled in comparison to what happened to the Husband when he went to the dentist for the one and only cavity he’s ever had. I didn’t see this first hand (oh how I would have given up my chocolate stash to see it), but he told me that after he got the cavity filled, he rushed back to work. When he walked into a meeting, everyone looked at him, appalled, and asked him what happened to his face. Apparently whenever he made a facial expression it only registered on one side of his face. His co-workers laughed about it non-stop, which made him laugh, which made the one side of his face register said laugh. I imagine it was very hard to take him seriously the rest of the work day.

I got a little taste of that today myself. Bosco had a very hard time listening to and obeying me. I can’t say I blame him. I wouldn’t want to listen to someone who was slurring their speech, making weird faces, and tossing spittle about.

Then, just to liven things up, a little birdie delivered this beauty right to my mailbox. Upon reading the contents, my innards seized up.
So yeah. Today has been interesting.

I've had two instances of not receiving enough freezing which wears out partway through the procedure. I'd rather be a drooling fool with a frozen face.

It's always so awkward because you can't tell if your face is moving or not!

I like the subtle reminder in the background of how educated you guys are.

Marilyn- I agree with you. That would be horrible! Something that lasts over 30 minutes and under 6 hours would be ideal.

Kristina-The dentist told me it probably felt worse than it looked. Yeah right! I guess he would have no idea because he has perfect teeth.

Ryan-Ha! I was wondering if anyone would pick up on that. It's a nice touch right? I just thought I'd throw that out there in case people started to think otherwise. However, I must say . . . not as educated as you.
